STOODMARK · PRESS KIT
Press kit
Your passport, made from your photos.
Every country you’ve stood in.
In three sentences
Stoodmark is an iPhone app that finds the countries and UNESCO World Heritage sites you have stood in from the time and place of your photos, and turns them into a passport.
All matching happens on the phone: photos are never uploaded, and nothing looks at what is in them.
Alongside the stamps are stories of how World Heritage sites came to be, each fact checked against a source we opened, in English and Japanese.
Key facts
- World Heritage
- All 1,273 UNESCO World Heritage properties.
- Privacy
- Photos are read on the iPhone and never uploaded. The app reads when and where each photo was taken, plus a few labels to choose a cover photo (favourite, file type, size, screenshot or panorama). Nothing looks at what is in a photo. Hidden photos are not read. Privacy policy →
- Counting
- Countries, airport transits and photos taken in flight are handled by stated rules. In-flight photos never count. A country seen only at the airport is shown as a transit and not counted unless you count it. How we count →
- Stories
- 312 stories so far of how a site came to be. Every fact is checked against a source we opened.
- Travellers
- Passports of 10 historical travellers (listed below).
- Launch
- December 2026, on iPhone (App Store): first in English-speaking countries and the Nordics, Japan later.
- Languages
- English, Japanese
- Operator
- NODIS, LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY (合同会社Nodis), Japan
Historical travellers’ passports
Each traces where a traveller stood and in which month, from their own accounts and from research, with a source for every stop.
